SEASON 2020 A New Decade Begins

SEASON 2020 in SoCal Community College Men's Golf commences this coming weekend with the Pt Conception Invite Tournament hosted by Santa Barbara City College (Jan 26-27). There is also a new alignment of Conferences as the Orange Empire Conference has absorbed and will host teams from the Pacific Coast Conference as noted back in March 2019.

SoCal Men's Golf is looking ahead in Season 2020 to have the Orange Empire Conference host several teams currently playing in the Pacific Athletic Conference and one team in the Western State Conference. The idea looks like this:

Suggestions as of March 6, 2019:

  • Each team would host 5 teams within their division and then participate in two all conference neutral tournaments, one hosted by the Inland conference and one by the Coastal conference.
  • There would still be a 36 hole conference  championship held where all twelve teams participate.
  • The top team from each division would advance to the regionals and the remaining 4 teams would be selected from the total points earned from the 2 neutral matches and conference championship.  That would ensure the top 6 teams advance and represent the OEC in the regionals.
