Mt San Jacinto EAGLE Classic

Mt San Jacinto College hosted its Eagle Classic at Soboba Springs Golf Course yesterday March 8, 2019. The weather was cold and the course is always a great challenge. The results are posted and note the Orange Empire Conference counted play as a regular conference match as well.

Kyoshiro AZUMADA, Palomar College, was the Eagle Classic medalist shooting
71. I would point out that Kyoshiro also medaled at the RCC Invite with a 69 and the Cuyamaca Classic with a 67. Three fine competitions on three fine golf courses under varied conditions. Keep up the stellar play Kyoshiro!

Consolitdation in Planning Stage

SoCal Men's Golf is looking ahead in Season 2020 to have the Orange Empire Conference host several teams currently playing in the Pacific Athletic Conference and one team in the Western State Conference. The idea looks like this:

Suggestions as of March 6, 2019:
  • Each team would host 5 teams within their division and then participate in two all conference neutral tournaments, one hosted by the Inland conference and one by the Coastal conference.
  • There would still be a 36 hole conference  championship held where all twelve teams participate.
  • The top team from each division would advance to the regionals and the remaining 4 teams would be selected from the total points earned from the 2 neutral matches and conference championship.  That would ensure the top 6 teams advance and represent the OEC in the regionals.

There will be tweaks perhaps before all the dust settles but I think this alignment will be great and I support the efforts in this regard!

Los Verdes GC hosted Match #1 for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference on February 6, 2019. Results are posted.

Western State Conference Match #3

River Ridge GC and Ventura College hosted Match #3 for the Western State Conference, Monday February 25th. Results posted.
