Welcoming 2019 Season

2019 Season Begins Soon and Very Soon

As I look ahead to Season 2019, I welcome all the new players who begin their SoCal Community College golf experience and welcome back returning players from Season 2018 and prior. Cypress College will attempt to repeat as State Champions in Season 2019 which is always a tough task. The State Finals will be held in NorCal (Silverado Resort & Spa, Napa) this season to add additional hurdles to overcome for teams from SoCal. There is information that a few programs have been cut in NorCal to add to the mix. Not sure who or how many exactly as yet.

Also welcome to
Thomas Mainez, Jr, coach for College of the Desert and Mark Yates, coach for Victor Valley College.

Wrapping up 2018 Season

Putting a wrap on the 2018 CC Men's Golf Season gives me the instant feedback that winter and mud season are over here in Maine where I sit whilst posting data. So it's off to the golf course for me, finally, as well. I trust you will have a healthy summer and fall. Finish up your college classes with high marks so you can return next season or move onward in your college and/or golfing careers.

I noted that the two medalists at the SoCals and State Championships hailed from Australia. Jones Comerford (College of the Canyons) and Adam Nelson (Reedley College) are country mates or perhaps simply mates from the land down under. Congratulations to each of them and congratulations to Community College Men's Golf for drawing such fine golfers to our level of competition.

Good health to one and all! Hit 'em straight and keep it in the short grass.

Until the 2019 season, when I'll "see" you again, I remain an avid supporter of Cal Community College Men's Golf.
